Character Development for Teens
Course Description: The purpose of this class is to help students gain insight and learn proven principles to help with tough issues and life changing decisions .

 
Child Development 1 & 2
Course Description: The first part of this class focuses on child development from pregnancy to infancy. The second part focuses on child development from birth to adolescence. The course includes such topics as parenting skills, illnesses, and child abuse, etc.

 
Clothing and Textiles
Course Description: This course discusses buying and caring for clothing, the basics of clothing construction, fabrics and textiles, and careers in the fashion industry.
 
Cooking
Course Description: The purpose of this class is to help students expand their ability to cook and prepare students for independent living.
 
Dating-Romance and Reason
Course Description: This course helps students to determine when they are ready to date, covers acceptable dating behaviors, relationship skills, and personality differences.

 
Discovering Your Roots
Course Description: Discovering your roots--become a detective and find your own ancestors! This course will help you explore the various types of family history records and teach you how to compile your own family history.
 
Education and Career Planning
Course Description: In this course, students, evaluate their interests and values. Students research occupations and discover opportunities for career preparation and planning.
 
Entrepreneurship
Course Description: Students are introduced to the concept of entrepreneurship, research opportunities and develop a business plan.
 
Everyday Etiquette
Course Description: This course provides an introduction to the use of proper etiquette in communications and personal actions at home, in school, in the community, and in the workplace. Students learn about respect for different viewpoints, cultures, and customs of others.
 
First Aid
Course Description: This course gives students a basic understanding of immediate care for an injured or suddenly ill person.
 
Food and Nutrition 1 & 2
Course Description: Students learn how food affects their body. Activities include planning and cooking meals, track eating habits, learning about nutritional needs and consumer choices.

 
Home Gardening
Course Description: This introductory course introduces students to vegetable gardening to include design, planting and growing.
 
Housing Decisions
Course Description: Students learn the factors that affect home-related decisions. Topics include advantages and disadvantages of owning a home plus how to determine an affordable mortgage payment.
 
Interior Design 1 & 2
Course Description: Students explore methods to enhance comfort, function and aesthetics. Architectural terminology, housing styles, furniture style and construction, lighting and home accessories are covered.

 
Leadership
Course Description: In this course students learn about different types of leadership, characteristics of a leader, and skills to be a good leader.
 
Nutrition and Wellness
Course Description: Students learn to make wise and safe food decisions for active living. Many facets of foods, nutrition, and wellness are explored throughout this course.

Course Description: The focus in this course is on issues related to parenting, beginning with deciding whether or not to have children, prenatal care, stages of development in infants and children, and healthy relationships.

Course Description: This practical course is designed to help students consider freedom and interaction with others, freedom from conflict, and freedom within the family.

Course Description: Students get an overview of the skills, experiences, and responsibilities needed to live independently through topics of housing, insurance and banking services.
 
Planning for College
Course Description: This course is designed to help students with the college selection process. Topics included are online research, application process, financial aid, and improvement of study skills.
 
Preparing for Health Occupations
Course Description: Health Occupations is a preparatory class to help prepare students who are interested in a profession as a health care worker.
 
Preparing for Responsible Adulthood
Course Description: Students will learn how to lay a foundation for successful, responsible adulthood through learning time management, goal setting and self motivation.
