Hi! My name is Linda Carl. I am a teacher at the Monroe Independent Education Charter School for grades 9-12.
I earned my Bachelor of Science in Education degree from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville majoring in Education. I have minors in middle school education, social studies, business and marketing. I am also certified in Charter School PK-12 and I have my Master in Science in Guidance and Counseling PK-12 also from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. I have also taken many classes in special education. I have been on the Darlington Community School Board for six years.
I am a single mother of three sons. My oldest son Eric is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison and is in his last year of William Mitchell Law School. My second son Jason is a graduate of Madison Area Technical College Madison with a degree in Architectural design and is attending the University of Wisconsin Stout this fall to complete his 4 year degree in business. My youngest son Carl graduated from Darlington High School and is attending Madison Area Technical College in Civil Engineering.
I have worked for the School District of Monroe for 5 years at the Monroe Alternative Charter High School and 2 years at the Virtual School. I am very proud of the district and my (late) immediate boss Mr. Dan Bauer for being innovative and not only realizing that not all students learn and achieve in the same way but created a solution. We in Monroe, and now anyone, can utilize this unique virtual school program from their home.
